The Masterpiece Academy: Building Teams for STEM Competitions

The Masterpiece Academy is excited to announce the formation of competitive robotics teams for the 2025-26 STEM competitions. Students enrolled in our STEM camps will have the opportunity to train, collaborate, and refine their skills in preparation for FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition.

Our camps provide a unique blend of STEM and literacy, ensuring that students read, research, and write about their ideas, enhancing both their technical knowledge and communication skills. This comprehensive approach helps prevent the summer slide while preparing students for high-level robotics challenges.

Why Join Our STEM Camps?

Hands-on Learning – Build, code, and test real robots.
Integrated Literacy – Improve research, writing, and presentation skills.
Competition Readiness – Train for FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and more.
Prevent Summer Slide – Keep academic skills sharp during summer break.
Team Collaboration – Work alongside like-minded peers and expert mentors.
Career & College Prep – Gain STEM experience that stands out in applications.

More than Robots: A Future in STEM

The FIRST LEGO League Challenge® isn’t just about building and programming robots—it’s a gateway to lifelong skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As part of the FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) ecosystem, this competition prepares young learners for more advanced engineering challenges in the FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition.

Why does this matter? FIRST® is not just another robotics program; it’s a globally recognized career-building platform. According to research by FIRST, 81% of alumni pursue STEM degrees, compared to just 64% of their peers. Additionally, participants gain crucial life skills, with 90% improving communication, 94% excelling in problem-solving, and 95% developing better time management.
