Our Story
Welcome to Masterpiece Academy, a vibrant beacon of learning where educational excellence meets innovation. Our journey began in 1997 in the Philippines as Dean’s List Tutorial Services, a humble tutoring center born from a dream to ignite a passion for learning in every child. We quickly evolved from a test preparation hub catering to students from elementary through college to a nurturing ground for academic mastery known as the Young Scholars Learning Center.
Our success story is one of continuous growth and transformation. In 2001, responding to our community's needs, we expanded to include courses for preschool to Kindergarten, developing a curriculum that celebrated academic rigor and creative exploration. Our young learners, some as young as two, amazed everyone by reading and writing proficiently in Tagalog and English, a testament to our innovative teaching methods.
Year after year, we grew by leaps and bounds, with our school population increasing by approximately 40-45% annually. This remarkable growth led to the establishment of our accredited elementary school curriculum, laying a solid foundation for lifelong learning.
Today, as The Masterpiece Academy, we stand proud of our rich history and unwavering commitment to excellence in education. Our programs, rooted in a deep understanding of the learning process, continue to evolve, preparing students for academic success and life's challenges. She is the visionary founder of the Young Scholars Circle, which has evolved into The Masterpiece Academy. With a rich tapestry of teaching experience spanning over 25 years, Krishna has profoundly influenced the Philippines, Loudoun, and Fairfax County Public Schools, serving as a Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach. Her innovative approach has empowered teachers with cutting-edge, research-based teaching strategies and data-driven instruction and significantly enhanced student literacy outcomes.
