Section 504 Accommodations through LUOA
At The Masterpiece Academy, we believe every student deserves a learning environment where they can thrive. Through our partnership with Liberty University Online Academy (LUOA), we offer Section 504 Plans to provide reasonable academic accommodations for students with qualifying disabilities.
📘 What is Section 504?
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a civil rights law prohibiting discrimination based on disability. It ensures that students with physical or mental impairments that substantially limit a major life activity (like learning, reading, concentrating, etc.) receive equal access to educational opportunities.

📝 How to Request a 504 Plan
Parents or guardians should:

Contact our office to initiate a request.

Submit documentation of the student’s diagnosis and learning needs.

Work with LUOA’s Academic Support Team, who will evaluate the request and create a formal 504 Plan if appropriate.
Once approved, the plan is shared with teachers and academic staff, and accommodations begin immediately.
