What kind of feedback is given to students in the self-paced classes? Thank you.

Hi Chuntao – In the Academies of Loudoun Writing and STEM Thinking Skills Test self-paced classes, feedback is structured to provide detailed insights into student performance. Here’s an overview of how feedback is delivered:

Mastery Medals and Badges: Students earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Mastery Medals for quizzes and timed writing prompts based on their performance. The awards serve as a motivational tool and give students a clear sense of achievement.

Success Saga Badges: Cumulative points earned through reflections, guided lessons, and instructional video focus lessons contribute to badges such as Agile Achiever, Epic Triumph, and Saga Champion. These badges track long-term progress and mastery of skills.

    Writing and Test Performance Feedback:

In writing, feedback is aligned with the Academies of Loudoun Writing Rubric, which evaluates key areas like questioning, information gathering, originality of ideas, and presentation. Each student receives personalized feedback on how well they meet the criteria, with suggestions for improvement.
For STEM Thinking Skills, feedback focuses on reasoning and problem-solving skills. Detailed explanations accompany each question, helping students understand both correct and incorrect answers.

Video Focus Lessons and Challenges: Students are guided through lessons where they receive immediate feedback on practice sets and challenges. These lessons emphasize strategies for improvement, often tied to test-prep skills.

This comprehensive feedback system ensures students in self-paced classes remain engaged and understand where to focus their efforts for improvement. Students can also send messages and emails to any of the classroom teachers and admin staff. I hope that clarifies your question. Thank you.
