Part-Time Teacher Assistants (Summer to Fall)
Are you a high school student (17 or older) in Loudoun or Fairfax County passionate about STEM? Have you participated in robotics, coding, Python, or STEM competitions? We seek STEM Assistant Teachers to support our facilitators in delivering hands-on STEM education to younger students.
This part-time, in-person role is an excellent opportunity to gain teaching experience, develop leadership skills, and inspire the next generation of innovators!
Overview
As a STEM Assistant Teacher, you will undergo training and work alongside STEM Facilitators to deliver interactive STEM lessons, assist students with projects, and create a fun and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the required training program before starting as an Assistant Teacher.
- Assist STEM Facilitators in delivering structured STEM lessons. See our STEM Classes.
- Support students in robotics, coding, engineering projects, and hands-on STEM activities.
- Help set up and manage classroom materials for workshops.
- Mentor younger students, promote creativity, and encourage problem-solving.
- Provide guidance and basic troubleshooting for technology-based projects.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and STEM outreach events.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years old and a high school student in Loudoun or Fairfax County.
- Minimum GPA: 3.5 (must be in good academic standing).
- Strong interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).
- Experience in robotics, coding, engineering, or STEM competitions.
- Volunteer experience with younger children is a plus.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to pass county or state background checks and required training for working with children.
